November 22, 2007, families across the United States will celebrate Thanksgiving Day. We do this to commemorate the harvest reaped by the Plymouth Colony in 1621, after a long winter of immense hardship and starvation. The Pilgrims were joined by neighboring Indians, the Wampanoags, who joined them for three days and contributed food to the celebration.

ANNUAL TURKEY DINNER |
First United Methodist Church - Beaumont Youth Mission Projects Annual Fund Raiser. $10.00 a plate. Tickets are available by calling 409-832-0295 ext. 25. The United Methodist Women will also be having a Bake Sale and Bazaar. Serving times are 11am-1pm for lunch and 5pm-7pm for Dinner. Dine in or Take out. |

FAMILY FUN DAY |
Join us at the Museum of the Gulf Coast from 2:00 to 5:00 pm for a free day of fun inspired by the traveling exhibition This is Our Land: Discovering America and the World through Original Illustrations from Children's Books. The event will include hands-on activities, music from around the world by Tin Roof Tango and special guest children's author and illustrator Roxie Munro. The Museum is located at 700 Procter Street in downtown Port Arthur. |
