It is time again for the beer tasting to begin!
AMSET brings back the Art of Beer
6-10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29
Tickets are $45 in advance or $50 the day of the event
Beaumont, Texas — The Art Museum of Southeast Texas (AMSET) proved that beer is not just for tailgating sports fans and college frat boys with its inaugural beer tasting event held this past May. In fact, according to culinary circles across America, BEER is the new wine.
So, AMSET is giving all Southeast Texans the opportunity once again to sample a few new brews at the Art of Beer from 6-10 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29. This fun-filled and adventurous fund-raising event will benefit AMSET’s Exhibition and Education Programs.
“We just knew that people didn’t want to wait a whole year for this fantastic beer tasting to come around again,” said Art of Beer Chair Dade Phelan. “So, we’ve brought it back with an exciting new line-up of seasonal fall beers to sample and great food and music, as well. Most importantly, the funds raised will help bring in exceptional art exhibitions and provide the wonderful art education programs, such as mobile art outreach events to area schools, churches and other organizations for free.”
To celebrate the fall season, this round of the Art of Beer will give attendees the opportunity to taste a completely new array of beers, with some special seasonal flavors. AMSET is extremely excited to be able to feature the full line of Abita beers, from Abita Springs, La., including the famous Turbodog, for tasting.
Saint Arnold Brewing Company, the oldest microbrewery in Texas, will return with their fall line of specialty beers including their seasonal Christmas Ale. Giglio Distributing and Del Papa Distributing will also once again present their enticing assortment of beers for sampling.
And what goes best with beer? Well, burgers and brats, of course. This delicious dinner will be provided by the Museum’s own Two Magnolias. The tasting will be rounded out with musical entertainment provided by the internationally-acclaimed German folk band Alpenfest, making for a guten abend (good evening) for all.
The first 100 people to make reservations for this one-of-a-kind event will receive Art of Beer logo emblazoned beer tasting mugs. Wine will also be available for those who may not prefer beer but want to support AMSET and join the fun.
Seating for the Art of Beer is limited, so advance reservations are recommended. Tickets are $45 in advance or $50 the day of the event and can be purchased at 500 Main Street in downtown Beaumont or by calling (409) 832-3432.
The Mission of the Art Museum of Southeast Texas is to provide education, inspiration and creative vision to the people of our culturally diverse region through our collections, exhibitions, public programs, and outreach in the visual arts.
