It's a Moving Market by ashley behn

Realtor Dayna Simmons of Coldwell Banker is one busy lady. 'Tis the season to move from one house to another. We know that many of you are in the market to move, so we asked Dayna, "How do we help our readers sell their home?" And Dayna said...
- Curb appeal is big. Paint & landscaping can do wonders!
- Cleanliness on the inside is even bigger. No one wants to move into a dirty house.
- Box up any items you don't need on a regular basis. This will maximize your space to the buyer's eye.
- Ask a realtor to come by to assess what cosmetic changes need to be done. They will give advice according to other homes valued similiar to yours within your neighborhood.
- Mistake in selling: Selling via For Sale By Owner during busy market times, not selling, then listing with a realtor during down times. Makes the selling process longer than it has to be.
So then we said, "Dayna, how can we help our readers buy a home?" And Dayna said...
- Step 1: Get pre-approved for a loan before looking. You need to know what price range is available to you.
- When you buy, go ahead and think about resale.
- Don't overpay. Using a realtor can help in this department.
- One of the #1 mistakes: Getting too emotional. You have to think about this as a business transaction, not just somewhere you'll host Thanksgiving.
Dayna has alot more to say about buying & selling your home. She even has created a book of advice- call her office for more information at 409.673.8288.
