A Never-ending Woman’s Guide to Holiday Health

So, why exactly do we gain so much weight throughout the holidays? Well, for starters how about all of the scrumptious holiday food. There is definitely no other time of the year where you are exposed to so much rich, one-time-a-year food. AHH! What’s a girl to do?

It’s actually pretty simple. One word, Ladies: MODERATION. I know that when my grandma bakes her famous Christmas cookies I tend to temporarily lose all sanity and devour the little baked goods like there is no tomorrow. If you know you are going to be exposed to a lot of rich food, it’s important to take a step back and think, “Do I really want to put on that extra holiday weight?” If your answer is yes, then break out your fork and get to grubbin’ (hmm, why exactly are you reading this article?)! If your answer is no, then remember this key word: moderation. Rather than gorging my face with tons of Christmas cookies, I’ll have only one (maybe twoJ) but that’s it! I get to savor the once-a-year goodie and feel good about myself because I know I am keeping off that holiday belly bulge! In the end, it all boils down to portion control.
