Girl's Night Out
Like to plan? Get in on the fun! If you have a great idea, whether it’s in your dreams or has been tried & true, let us know! Submit your party planning tips & ideas to goodtimes@beaumontbuzz.com.

Nothing beats a fun night out with the girls! Dressing up, sharing a meal and a few cocktails, laughing and socializing the night away (or at least until you get tired after all the things you had to do to get out of the house on time). Nothing beats the occasional outing child- and husband-free. But sometimes there’s just not room in the very real budget for this very needed excursion. Don’t let that discourage you! Mommies need play dates too!
Why not have a Girls’ Night In? If you’re the one playing hostess, fun (and free) electronic invitations can be found at one of my favorite sites, Evite.com. Just pick one you like, fill in all the details and send to all your gal pals via e-mail. Be sure to pick a night where there will be neither spouses nor sprouts around. Your job can be to provide coffee and mixes (to be combined with alcohol or seltzer) and maybe a simple dessert or canapes (my favorite fancy word for appetizers- it makes you feel oh-so-posh when offering your guests a slice of tiny toast with cheese spread on it). Everyone else can bring their favorite finger foods, cookies or anything else delectable they may want. Next, pick a theme. DIY mani’s and pedi’s are always a blast, especially if everyone brings their favorite polishes to mix and match. If it’s a little friendly competition you’re craving, try playing Trivial Pursuit, Life or maybe even Monopoly (sure to exercise those parts of your brain now designated for cartoon show tunes and finding matching socks). Sometimes, a girl just needs a good laugh (or cry). Pop some popcorn and pop in a New Release (what’s that again?) of the latest chick flick hit. A bottle or two of moderately priced wine- no one has to know you got it on clearance- and you’ve got a party!
No matter how you do it, a carefree night with your favorite pals is the best form of stress management in my book. Eat, drink, and have a heck of a lot of fun!
