Who is… what is… and why has beaumontbuzz.com been created? As a Beaumont native, I said what most teenagers say upon high school graduation in any city, “Get me out of here!” While I didn’t want to leave my family, I was excited to experience life somewhere OTHER than Southeast Texas. So, what did I do? I traveled a little further east to the Piney Woods of Texas (Big City Living!) to attend Stephen F. Austin State University where I graduated with a degree in Journalism. I then got married and lived in the Big D where life truly moved too fast for me. Five months after saying “I do,” my husband and I got pregnant with our first son, Treson, and moved back home to be near parents (a.k.a help!). I began to see and value the Southeast Texas area differently and began to cringe when long-time residents complained of having “nothing to do.” This is an incredible area with incredible people! Six months after my son was born, I began to work in a local maternity boutique where I handled all of the shop’s advertising and marketing. There, I met tons of new (pregnant!) friends, many of whom were new to the area. I found myself befriending newcomers and giving them ideas of where to meet people, cool places to go, great restaurants, etc. In addition to my new friends, I met many small business owners that wanted a better way to connect to their customers and drive traffic into their stores. Traditional forms of advertising just weren’t cutting it- too expensive & too vast of an audience for specialty women-targeted stores. I then met business owners just like me- stay-at-home/part time working moms who wanted to start their own business showcasing their talent & passion, but having no idea of where to start. So, after much thought, beaumontbuzz.com was born. A site so unique, it is unlike any other on the web. Beaumontbuzz.com is about the SETX Woman… where she can shop, where she can make friends, where she can entertain, where she can get involved & where she can make her dreams come true. Whether you are new to our area or have been a life-long resident, I hope you will connect with our website. It was created just for you!
