Return Books- Get Gas!
Your returned library books could get you gas! During October and November, the circulating libraries of the Beaumont Public Library System will award free $100 gas cards to participants in the “Bring them Back and Get Gas Promotion.” To be eligible to win, library patrons must return borrowed materials inside any of the circulating libraries. However, library drop returns are not eligible for the prizes.
The plan is simple. Return five books and receive one entry, ten books get two entries, fifteen books receive 3 entries and 20 books get four entries. Drawings will be held the first week in November and the first week in December. Gas Gift cards may be redeemed at any Fast Lane location.
Books returned on adult or juvenile cards may be returned for the drawing, but only borrowers 16 years old and up are eligible to win. Books that are checked out and returned the same day are not eligible. Employees of the Beaumont Public Library System are not eligible and patrons are eligible to win only one gas card during this promotional period.
According to Claudie Hawkins, Director of Event Facilities and Libraries, participating libraries include the Downtown Main Library, the Elmo Willard,Theodore Johns, and R. C. Miller Libraries. “Our libraries are conveniently located and filled with not only books, but videos, magazines, and music to lend,” Mrs. Hawkins said, “and we have free internet access.” She also emphasized that the libraries are open until 8:00 PM Monday thru Thursday and 6:00 PM on Friday and Saturday, and all have knowledgeable staffs eager to share the joy of reading. Library services are free to the public.
